Nancy Grace: Anita Bryant Didn’t Deserve A Pie In The Face, She Was a Sweet Lady..Wtf?

While discussing Brad Pitt getting slapped on the red carpet, Nancy Grace recalled how anti-gay activist Anita Bryant has a pie thrown in her face? Even going as far as to calling her a “sweet lady” that reminded Grace of her mother.

“Do you remember Anita Bryant?,” Grace asked her guest. “Anita Bryant was a religious singer, I think she represented the orange industry. She had a lot of conservative views, but she had this beautiful voice, and she was everywhere singing all the time. A lot of times it was Christian inspirational music…

“I still remember when I was a little girl, and somebody came up and did this to her, in public. She was speaking on some issue dear to hear heart, and I remember that as a little girl. I mean, she is a lady, to come. I don’t understand that. I don’t understand that, Bethany. I mean, why did that guy do that? That was the first time I recall this happening — to her. I mean, look at her. She makes me think of my own mother. Why would you do this to a sweet lady whether you agree with her politics or not?”

“some issue” Wtf Nancy? I would like to give Nancy the benefit of the doubt that she does not really know the facts about the hate that Bryant spearheaded against the gay community back in the 70’s but she is too smart not to. Has Nancy always been an ignorant bigot in disguise? If she knew that much about Bryant, i find it hard to believe she did not know the depths of her depravity and hate toward the LGBT community. Nancy’s guest commentator was just as stupid and mystified as to why anyone would throw a pie in the face of such a anti-gay mega monster as Bryant.

I suggest Nancy do some fact checking on who Anita Bryant truly was and continues to be today and if for some reason she can not find it on the wikipedia or the internet, i suggest she call up Kathy Lee Gifford.
