Senegal: Two men sentenced to 6 months in Jail for having sex

Two gay men in Senegal have been sentenced to six months in jail after being found guilty of committing ‘an improper or unnatural act with a person of the same sex’.

The Associated Press reported the men were arrested after neighbours alerted police to their home address in the country’s capital, Dakar. They confessed their sexual relationship in court on Friday (31 January), and Judge Racky Deme sentenced the pair under Senegal’s penal code.
