Penis pumps cost the Medicare program $172 million over a six-year period, roughly double the amount the average American consumer would have paid at the retail level, according to a report released Monday.
The report by the inspector general for the Department of Health and Human Services said that Medicare — the federal government health insurance system for senior citizens — paid close to 474,000 claims for vacuum erection systems (VES), totaling roughly $172.4 million from 2006 to 2011.
The government pays $360 bucks per pump! Which is INSANE considering they cost anywhere from $25 to $40 retail.
