Baltimore Ravens Brendon Ayanbadejo Ripped for supporting Gay Marriage…cease and desist letter sent to team owner…

File this under CRAAAAZZZZEEE. Emmett C. Burns Jr. a delegate in Maryland demands, wait for it, that the Ravens “sanction” player Brendon Ayanbadejo for his support of gay marriage. LOLS. I told you it was good. Wtf?

Ayanbadejo who in October of last year, endorsed the Marylanders for Marriage Equality campaign. The group that was instrumental in the passage of a bill legalizing gay marriage. Which has now become a referendum on the November ballot to over turn the law after bigots gather enough signatures. 

“I believe we should be doing everything that we can to make Maryland families stronger. Which is why I support marriage for gay and lesbian couples who want to make a lifetime commitment to each other,” Ayanbadejo said in a 30-second ad. “People from all walks of life, including gay and lesbian couples, want their children to be in stable homes and protected under the law.”

In a crazy cracked out NONSENSICAL letter to Steven Disciotti, owner of the Ravens,  Burns, who happens to be a Democrat of the kind we do not like and a mega homophobe, claims that Ayanbadejo’s opinions were dividing the team’s fan base.

“I find it inconceivable that one of your players, Mr. Brendon Ayanbadejo would publicly endorse same-sex marriage, specifically as a Raven Football player. Many of my constituents and your football supporters are appalled and aghast that a member of the Ravens Football Team would step into this controversial divide and try to sway public opinion one way or the other,” Burns wrote on official Maryland House stationary.

Does any one care if he and “many of ” his constituents are ‘aghast’? NO.

“Many of your fans are opposed to such a view and feel it has no place in a sport that is strictly for pride, entertainment and excitement. I believe Mr. Ayanbadejo should concentrate on football and steer clear of dividing the fan base.”

I thinks it pretty much a safe bet to say, that the majority of the fans are there to watch football and could care less about his stance on gay marriage.

“I am requesting that you take the necessary action, as a National Football League Owner, to inhibit such expressions from your employees and that he be ordered to cease and desist such injurious actions. I know of no other NFL player who has done what Mr. Ayanbadejo is doing.”

Question for Burns. If we were back in the civil rights era, what would he think about some crack pot writing a letter to the Ravens owner claiming that they were “aghast” that a white player supported civil rights or even a black player on the team?…Yes, that’s what i thought. Now to Burns, STFU and grow up and get a life….
