Over a 100 groups join Marylanders for Marriage Equality Coalition…
Marylanders for Marriage Equality, the group working their butts off to make sure gay marriage is kept in the state, just announced that over 100 groups have joined the fight.
Marylanders for Marriage Equality includes a broad array of LGBT organizations, organized labor, religious groups, and others representing thousands of residents. Some of the partners include the Maryland Black Family Alliance, 1199 SEIU, ACLU of Maryland, the NAACP’s Baltimore branch, and the League of Women Voters.
“We’ve been pounding the pavement and our work is paying off,” said David Turley, coalition director for Marylanders for Marriage Equality, in a statement. “Our momentum is growing as we build a homegrown and diverse base of support. Partner organizations are integral in mobilizing their members and getting the message out that voting for Question 6 is about treating people equally.”
