Madonna appeals for the release of jailed Pussy Riot…And of course will take ‘credit’ for it…

Madge showed her support for the release of the Russian punk band Pussy Riot (my kind of name ;) While on stage in Moscow, the Material Girl took of her shirt to reveal Pussy Riot painted on her back.

Stadium, Madonna said: ‘I know there are many sides to every story, and I mean no disrespect to the church or the government, but I think that these three girls – Masha, Katya, Nadya – I think that they have done something courageous.

‘I know that everyone in this auditorium, if you are here as my fan, feels they have the right to be free.’

Madonna is one of a host of celebrites to call for the release of the group, who have been in jail for the past five months after they were refused bail following their February arrest.

Maria Alyokhina, 24, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, 22, and Yekaterina Samutsevich, 29, were accused of inciting religious hatred following a anti-Vladimir Putin performance at Moscow’s main cathedral.

Lets see, the group will be released and Madge will take the credit like she did for the gay couple in Malawi that was sentenced to 14 yrs in prison for being gay but later released after an international outcry. The saga went on for almost a 6 months and heavily covered by the press, before she opened her mouth. I mean how could she know what was going in Malawi? She only adopted 2 kids from there and has dumped millions into the country? Pa-leeze

Do you have a link that shows where Madonna ever “took credit” for the couple in Malawi?
