AIDS Activist Maurice Mjomba brutally murdered in Kenya…
Tanzanian LGBT activist, Maurice Mjomba was discovered in his house bounded, gagged and severely beaten.
Mjomba was a member of Tanzania’s MSM group, Stay Awake Network Activities (SANA) since 2008. He was also one of the founding members, and served as the group’s assistant secretary and executive committee member.
The report (sent in Swahili) by the eye witnesses says that Maurice was found ‘slumped on a couch with his mouth and nose shut lid with a tape.’
Mjomba, according to eye witnesses had ‘his hands bound tight behind his back and that he appeared to have been beaten ‘savagely.’’ He was seated on a couch in the house. His mouth and nose were gagged. His hands were tied behind his back.’
The witnesses also report that a foul stench from Mjomba’s house attracted neighbors who later called the police to investigate and found him dead.
Mjomba was last seen on Friday last week; on Saturday to the day he was discovered. It is alleged he may have been killed between Friday and Saturday morning.
