Welsh footballer’s twitter sends out anti-gay tweet about Olympian, claims victim of prank…

Welsh footballer Daniel Thomas claims it was not him who sent out an extremely offensive tweet that British swimmers Tom Daley and Peter Waterfield were HIV+ lovers.

“If there is any consolation for finishing fourth at least Daley and Waterfield can go and bum each other #teamHIV,” was tweeted from Thomas’s account, @10danthomas10,

Daley and Waterfield, just missed grabbing an Olympic medal on Monday.  Thomas, however is claiming that he is a victim of a very bad prank. He says he left his phone unattended and someone else sent the message.

Port Talbot FC who Thomas plays for issued this statement “both the player and club wish to apologise unreservedly to those offended and in no way condone such views.”

“Having spoken at length to the player in question, we believe that he regrettably left his phone unattended and was the victim of a very misguided ‘prank’.

“The player issued an immediate apology for the comments which appeared on his Twitter feed and has since deleted his account.

Damage control or victim? What do you think?

Either way, how do people even make comments like that? What a despicable person you must be…
