The remake that should NEVER happen: ‘What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?’
There are certain movies in the world that should not ever fall victim to Hollywood’s obsessiveness in not being original. And ‘What ever Happened to Baby Jane’ is one of them. Yes, the gay/cult classic is getting another dreadful remake.
The writer-director is partnering with the Aldrich Co. to create a new version of the 1962 film, famous for the performances turned in by Bette Davis and Joan Crawford.
Walter Hill is planning to write and direct a remake of 1962’s What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, which was directed by Robert Aldrich and famously starred rival acting legends Bette Davis, as the former child star Baby Jane Hudson, and Joan Crawford as her crippled sister Blanche.
No one has been cast yet, however if this film has any chance in hell of being decent, there are only two women of the silver screen and who have the acting chops to pull it off, Tom Cruise and John Travolta. Meryl Streep and Glenn Close. Enough said. Otherwise why bother.
Now of course you know when the movie comes out i’ll probably love it, so i will be the first to eat my words.
