Murderer Of Gay Teen gets life and no parole…
Dante Parrish was sentenced to life in prison with no chance for parole for the November 2009 murder of 15 yr old Jason Mattison who was gay.
Mattison was found stuffed into a closet in an upstairs bedroom of an east Baltimore house, with a pillowcase jammed in his mouth. His throat was cut and he had been sexually assaulted.
The crime occurred in Copeland’s home.
The victim’s sexuality ran as an undercurrent of this case, said Miller. At the trial, prosecutors said he had to shuffle from one home to another because he was gay.
The judge called Parrish a danger to his friends, his society and even his enemies. His statement was a reference to Parrish’s previous conviction for the 1999 murder of a man in east Baltimore.
The judge had this to say: “You are not a ghoul or a thing that goes bump in the night. But you are every bit as frightening because you are real.”
