Gay Men Are Packing More Than Straight Men...

Gay men are better endowed than straight men, radio and TV journalist Faith Sallie told Gayle King on Friday's installment of The Gayle King Show.

It's one of many ways people can tell gay men from straight men, Salie says. The journalist appeared on the show to talk about gaydar, citing David France's 2007 article for New York magazine titled "The Science of Gaydar."

Salie says research is turning up an increasing number of ways in which gay people are different from straight people. Finger length, hair patterns and finger prints are among the other ways in which gay people and straight people differ.

I have been with both so i would agree!!!

Another Teen Suicide....

MYFOXNY.COM - A community in Orange Country, N.Y., is in mourning and in shock after a 14-year-old freshman took his own life and Facebook bullying may have pushed him over the edge.

Sources said that Kameron Jacobsen of Monroe Woodbury High School was tormented by Facebook bullies who taunted him about what they thought was his sexual orientation.

His fellow students and parents are devastated.

Crisis teams have been called in to help students, staff and parents deal with not one, but two tragedies in less than two weeks. Sources said that another student, a junior on the football team, ended his life.

At the high school they both attended, students tried to make sense of the incomprehensible -- that two teens with everything ahead of them seemed to find life too painful.

Principal David Bernsley said the sense of loss is excruciating and that they are doing their best to cope.

"Our hearts go out to the families," Bernsley said. "We're devastated as a community."

For Jacobsen's family, the grief is beyond measure. Even with his death, online entries still sting. His older sister, Kierten, pleaded that people stop writing "rest in peace" entries and posting personal information about her baby brother.

Eli Lilly Execs Support Gay Teens, Colleagues Not So Much...

A group of gay executives at Eli Lilly (LLY) made one of those “it gets better” videos to encourage gay teens not to kill themselves if they are bullied at school. But they’ll no doubt be furious that some of their colleagues are airing their homophobic views elsewhere on the web.

The Lilly video is one of hundreds made by famous and non-famous people to tell teens that high school doesn’t last forever and that after graduation — and particularly in the workplace — outright homophobia becomes much less acceptable. The Lilly video is notable because it is one of only a handful made by corporations.

Cali Federal Judge Rules Gay State Employees Can Sue Government Over Spousal Health Care...

A federal judge in Oakland, Calif., ruled that California state employees can sue for discrimination over the federal government’s exclusion of their spouses from long-term health-care programs.

As reported in the San Francisco Chronicle, U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken denied the Obama Administration’s request to dismiss a suit and "nd signaled that she is likely to overturn provisions of the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, which denies federal benefits to same-sex couples."

This follows two separate organizations taking on DOMA in the Northeast last fall.

The Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD) filed a federal lawsuit in Connecticut challenging DOMA’s Section 3, which defines ’’marriage’’ and ’’spouse’’ in federal law as being limited only to opposite-sex couples. The plaintiffs include couples and a widower from three New England states with marriage equality: Connecticut, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Euro Parliament Urge Lithuania To Reject Anti-Gay Law..

The European Parliament called on the Lithuanian parliament on Wednesday to reject a draft law that would punish the "public promotion of homosexual relations". It added that minors should be able to access information about homosexuality freely and asked the European Commission to present a plan to combat homophobia.

Wednesday's resolution, put forward by the S&D, ALDE, Greens/EFA and GUE/GNL groups, was triggered by "a series of worrying events", according to MEPs. These include the adoption of a Law on the Protection of Minors against the Detrimental Effects of Public Information, an attempted ban by local authorities on holding equality and gay pride marches and the use by leading politicians of inflammatory or threatening language and hate speech.

Cuba Still Schizo On LGBT Rights??

In its 52 years, the Cuban Revolution has had a less than stellar queer history, complete with on-the-record anti-gay statements by Fidel Castro, sanctioned anti-gay persecutions and purges, and labor camps in the 1960s created specifically for LGBT people.
Officially, all that has changed. Fidel Castro apologized for the persecution of gays on his watch, there are no explicitly anti-gay laws on the books, and LGBT rights have found an unlikely champion in Mariela Castro, President Raul Castro’s daughter, a sexologist who runs the National Sex Education Center (CENESEX, as its known by its Spanish acronym).
But, unofficially, there’s still plenty of police harassment of LGBT people (documented by both pro- and anti-government bloggers, mostly for foreign readers), and no recognition of LGBT citizens and their families, which effectively frustrates, if not denies, access to housing, certain medical services, adoption and travel.

Ricky Martin Needs Daddy's Little Girl...

To cute. Little Kiki said recently that he would like more kids...I'd call him daddy...

"Fatherhood is incredible! Every day is something different. Matteo and Valentino, they're constantly ganging up on me but I can take it! They're amazing - I want more. This is only the beginning of our family," femalefirst.co.uk quoted him as saying

Asked how many children he was considering having, Martin, who is openly gay, added: "I don't know. Maybe one, two more, but yeah, definitely. I need daddy's girl."

Jury Rules Man Not Guilty Of Gay Intimidation...

A trial Tuesday at the Multnomah County Courthouse finally closed the chapter on an incident stemming from an altercation April 12, 2009 outside of Casey’s Bar during Blowpony. Blake McCune – charged with intimidation based on sexual orientation against Blowpony founder Airick Heater, as well as interfering with a police report – was found guilty only of the latter crime this morning. Judge Adrienne Nelson imposed 18 months of bench probation, 80 hours of community service, a $300 fine, and ordered that McCune have no contact with Heater.

Heater originally pressed charges against McCune, a Vancouver resident, in 2009 just following the incident – in which Heater claimed McCune had called him a “fucking faggot bitch,” punched him and knocked his cell phone out of his hand when he attempted to call the police during a scuffle outside Casey’s. McCune didn’t deny that in the heat of the moment – he and a friend were waiting to be buzzed in to another friend’s apartment above Casey’s and became embroiled in name-calling with people outside Blowpony – he called Heater a “faggot,” but he claimed he did not punch Heater.

American Idol...Did You Watch?

I will be honest, i never watch the show until they are down to the last 6 or so contestants. But since nothing else was on tonight and i did have curiosity about Jenny from the block and Steven Tyler i decided to tune in. Well plus for some reason my soaps were on repeats today. But the show was not bad, the last two stories were tear jerkers. The girl with the father who was in remission from throat cancer and the 16 yr old twin boy who was poor and trying to make it for his family....I did like Tyler and Jlo, i must say....

Judge Rejects Homo Panic Defense....

A Kamloops, BC judge has rejected a homo panic defence and convicted a man in his 20s of second degree murder for stabbing a man 73 times.

BC Supreme Court Justice Richard Blair ruled Cory Peter Bird made up stories about attacking Michell in self-defence "as he sought to prevent his friends and family from learning of his bisexuality."

Bird killed Albert James Michell, 40, on the Lytton Indian Band's Siska Reserve south of Lytton, BC on Aug 13, 2008.

The judge ruled that Bird "was operating with foresight of the deadly consequences of his actions, stating at one point that he went 'in for like ... the kill I guess.'"

Bird told the court he awoke on the night of the murder to find Michell sitting naked and watching porn. Bird said Michell approached him in an aggressive fashion, waving a knife, and told him to remove his shorts. Michell then gave him a blowjob.

Given Bird's previous sexual experiences with men, the judge didn't buy his argument that he just snapped when Michell went down on him.

"I conclude that he (Bird) would not find Mr Michell's sexual contact to constitute either insults or wrongful acts," Blair ruled.

Rush Limbaugh Is A Douchebag....

In his latest antigay rant, Rush Limbaugh suggeststhat the Democratic Party blames the AIDS epidemic on Ronald Reagan because they want people to believe he had the disease and spread it himself through gay sex.

On Monday’s Rush Limbaugh Show, the conservative talk radio host said: “These people blamed AIDS on Reagan. Sound familar? They blamed homelessness on Reagan -- you know why they blamed AIDS on Reagan? Because he didn't care. Because he never delivered a speech about it. And because of that, AIDS was spread. They actually wanted us to believe that Reagan had the disease, was sneaking into gay people's houses at night, and impregnating them with the disease and running out.”

Lieberman To Retire??

Democratic sources said Tuesday that U.S. senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut will not seek reelection in 2012, though his office has yet to confirm his possible retirement.

The Washington Postreports that Lieberman will make an announcement Wednesday in Stamford, Conn. If the murmurs are correct, he will be joined by North Dakota Democratic senator Kent Conrad, who announced Tuesday that he will not seek a fifth term in office, and Texas Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison, who made public her decision to leave the Senate last week.

"He shot out like a rocket,” the rock star told the magazine. “There just aren't proper words to describe that feeling. It's indescribable. It was just, 'We have a son'!"

According to the article, Elton and David vow to lavish their son with love, not money. The child was carried by a surrogate mother.

Sara Palin Refuses to Shut Up...

Sarah Palin sat down with Sean Hannity to do her first interview since the Arizona shootings that brought much controversy over her use of maps with cross-hairs on them targeting politicians that bitch face wanted voted out of office. Of course she spoke with fellow douchebag right winger Hannity, she would not dare sit down with someone who is not a conservative Re-pukelican like herself.

"The graphic that was used was crosshairs. That's not original. Democrats have been using them for years," Palin said in the interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, where Palin is a paid contributor.

"It isn't about me personally, but it is about the message," she said. "I know that a lot on the left hate my message, and they will do all that they can to stop me because they don't like the message. They’ll do what they can to destroy the message and the messenger."

Meanwhile, when asked about speculation the recent controversies have disrupted any future political ambitions, Palin vowed she will continue to speak her mind.

"I am not ready to make an announcement about what my political future is going to be. But I will tell you ... I am not going to sit down. I am not going to shut up,"she said.

Therapist Who Tired Turning Gay Man Straight, May Loose License...

A psychotherapist in Britain who tried to convert a gay man into a heterosexual will know her fate this week in a hearing that could see her stripped of her licence to practise under the British Association for Counsellingand Psychotherapy (BACP).

Lesley Pilkington, 60, a psychotherapist for 20 years, faces being stripped of her accreditation to the BACP after treating a patient who had told her he wanted to be "cured" of his homosexuality, The Telegraph reported Sunday.

The case will expose the growing use of hugely controversial therapies, from the US, which attempt to make homosexual men heterosexual.

The therapy has been described by the leading professional psychotherapy body as "absurd", while the Royal College of Psychiatrists said "so-called treatments of homosexuality" allow prejudice to flourish.

A small group of counsellors believe all men are born heterosexual but that some choose a homosexual lifestyle which can then be changed through counselling, the report said.

The patient was in fact a prominent homosexual rights campaigner and journalist, who secretly recorded two sessions with Pilkington, a devout Christian, before reporting her to the BACP.

GLAAD Wants CNN To Stay Away From "Anti-Gay Industry"...

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is urging its supporters to sign an online petition to CNN to keep away from what it refers to as the “anti gay industry”.

GLAAD is accusing the network which they said has long been one of the most respected journalistic organizations on many issues of having a blind spot on issues that affect the LGBT community.

While citing a December 21 John King USA segment with Peter Sprigg of the conservative pro-life Family Research Council as an example GLAAD claims that CNN has often used members of the anti-gay industry when seeking to provide a balanced viewpoint on gay issues. GLAAD also says CNN only books these people because the are anti-gay.

The segment that offended GLAAD and pushed them to action featured Alex Nicholson an openly gay former Army intelligence officer and Sprigg who is a senior fellow at the aforementioned Family Research Council to discuss “Don’t Ask, Don’Tell”.

High School Kids Do Random Acts Of Kindness In Honor Of MLK....

SARANAC LAKE - A group of students at Saranac Lake High School have decided to honor Martin Luther King Jr. this week by committing random acts of kindness.

The new diversity group is partnering with the school's Key Club to make this Random Acts of Kindness Week. They plan to put up an interactive bulletin board, hand out "happy-grams," make announcements about kindness, award students who perform random acts of kindness and hold a movie screening.

The group started with Purple Against Homophobia Day, for which people wore purple and tagged on facts about homophobia to the daily announcements. The event was held on Oct. 20 and was inspired by a national rash of teens committing suicide after being outed.

Since then, the group has spread from being anti-homophobic to working against any kind of bullying and intolerance.

5 Work Place Bullying Tragedies....

Another tragic case is that of Stuart McGregor, a young man who had always dreamed of being a chef, but after he scored a highly sought-after apprenticeship in a kitchen in Bendigo, AU, his dream soon became a nightmare.
The manager of the kitchen was set on making Stuart’s work life a living hell. Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen was Angel’s Paradise compared to what Stuart felt he needed to endure to succeed in the highly competitive restaurant industry. Name-calling, berating and inappropriate remarks about Stuart’s sexuality were just the subtle beginnings of a mounting problem. Just before the end of Stuart’s three-month probation period, he was invited on a camping trip, but declined to go after the manager told him he ”would have blood up [his] arse and grass on [his] knees” if he went on the trip.
He was expected to do things that he hadn’t been taught and made fun of when he wasn’t doing them correctly. When Stuart asked a question about a particular soup recipe, the manager said he had to call the CEO of the company to ask for it. If he didn’t make the phone call he was in trouble, if he did, he was made to look stupid. One incident like this could have been tolerable, but these continual put downs lasted two years and eventually his mental health deteriorated sharply, and he took his life.

Gay Rights Heating Up In Virginia...

RICHMOND - At least eight measures in this year's General Assembly take aim against discrimination based on sexual orientation. The proposals range from prohibiting such discrimination in employment, to targeting harassment of gay students at school, to overturning Virginia's ban on same-sex marriage.

For example, Delegate Kenneth Plum, D-Reston, is sponsoring House Bill 1755. It would expand the Virginia Human Rights Act to outlaw discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. (Currently, the law covers only such categories as race, religion, sex and disability.)

"It has always been my concern that we'd be an open society," Plum said.

The bills come after a year in which sexual orientation has been the topic of intense discussion in Virginia and across the country.

Gay Billboard Stirs Controversy....

A campaign aimed at black gay men in Schenectady, New York is whipping up controversy.

The campaign to raise awareness in the African-American community features mostly young black men with the slogan “I AM GAY.”

One billboard features three black men on a basketball court with the caption, “I am gay, and this is where I play.” A black minister holding a Bible and a black parishioner inside a church are featured with the caption, “I am gay, and this is where I pray,” in a second billboard.

City Councilman Joseph Allen told the Times Union that he's opposed to the campaign.

“This kind of billboard is putting the stamp of approval on a gay lifestyle,” Allen, who is black and insists he's not homophobic, said.
