Congress Woman Shot In Rampage....

TUCSON, Ariz. – Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona was shot in the head Saturday when an assailant opened fire outside a grocery store during a meeting with constituents, killing a 9-year-old boy and a federal judge and wounding several others in a rampage that rattled the nation.

Giffords was among at least 10 people wounded, and the hospital said her outlook was "optimistic" and that she was responding to commands from doctors. The hospital said a 9-year-old child was among the killed, and a U.S. Marshal said a federal judge was also fatally shot in the attack.

Giffords spokesman C.J. Karamargin said an unspecified number of her staff members were injured in the shooting. Congressional officials said an aide to the Democrat was killed, but few details were released about the staff members.

Police say the shooter was in custody, and was identified by people familiar with the investigation as Jared Loughner, 22. Pima County Sheriff's officials said he used a pistol to carry out the rampage. U.S. officials who provided his name to the AP spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release it publicly.

Anti-Gay Hater Kevin Smith Is Douchebag Of The Day....

Kevin Smith, executive director of the conservative group Cornerstone Policy Research, which wants to roll back marriage rights for gay couples in New Hampshire, apparently also endorses "ex-gay" reparative therapy groups along the wayGood as You reports.
The New Hampshire–based group, which is also seeking to repeal any form of legal recognition for gay couples, such as civil unions, lists such ex-gay and reparative therapy groups as Exodus International, Love Won Out, the National Association of Research and Therapy of Homosexuality, and other groups thoroughly discredited by mental health professionals on the "helpful links" page of its website.
"What this shows, with 100% certainty, is that the group that's most prominently, most vocally hoping to reshape the marriage debate in the Live Free or Die State is also hoping to reshape gay people's very cores of existence in ways that fly in the face of ALL credible science," Good as You writes.

I cant stand these mother effers....Smith has the gay face written all over him...In my humble opinion...Weeeee

Minnesota Gays Beware: Gay Hating Minnesota "Family" Council Is Starting A Nasty Campaign...

When state legislators checked their office mailboxes Wednesday, they found an invitation to attend a Minnesota Family and Marriage Summit featuring a group that the Southern Poverty Law Center identifies as a hate group. The summit, to be held next week, is organized by the Minnesota Family Council and the Family Research Council and will teach legislators how to pass a constitutional amendment banning rights for same-sex couples.

The summit includes courses for legislators such as “Bullying bills: The homosexual agenda in your child’s public school” and “Why family matters,” but the bulk of the summit appears to be focused on getting an amendment on the ballot in 2012 banning gay marriage.

Sessions entitled “Effective marriage protection amendment strategies” and “What’s the harm in same-sex marriage?” are aimed at getting the amendment passed, and the latter is taught by a man who once said gays should be “exported” and that homosexuality should be outlawed: Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council.

The SPLC cited Sprigg’s often controversial statements in its rationale for listing the Family Research Council as a hate group. According to the SPLC, Sprigg said, “I would much prefer to export homosexuals from the United States than to import them.”

And last year, he told MSNBC’s host Chris Matthews, “I think there would be a place for criminal sanctions on homosexual behavior.” When Matthews asked, “So we should outlaw gay behavior?” Sprigg replied, “Yes.”

Gay Hating Iowa Conservatives Trying to Change Judge Selection Process...

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Emboldened by their successful campaign to oust three state Supreme Court justices for backing a unanimous ruling that allowed gay marriage in Iowa, political conservatives are pressing to revamp state's system for selecting the court's members.

U.S. District Judge Robert Pratt on Thursday heard arguments from groups for and against a conservative-led effort to re-write the rules that govern the makeup of the Iowa Judicial Nominating Commission, a 15-member board that nominates three district-level judges for the governor to choose from for each open position on the state Supreme Court.

The commission, which was created by voters in 1962 in an amendment to the state constitution, is comprised of seven members elected by the Iowa State Bar Association, seven members chosen by the governor, and the high court's senior justice, who acts as the commission's chairman.

Joseph Vanderhulst, an attorney for four conservative activists who want to get rid of the seats reserved for bar association appointees, argued that the system gives too powerful a voice to the law group. The bar association donates heavily to Democratic candidates. Vanderhulst said allowing the bar association to pick nearly half the commission members in effect gives a single profession the right to shape a branch of government.

"In a Republic, no class of people get special treatment," Vanderhulst told the court.

Those arguing to keep the current system point out that it was approved by the Iowa electorate, and they contend it has worked for nearly half a century.

Westboro Baptists Drowned Out At Funeral Demonstration....

ST. CHARLES, MO –(KMOX)–A sometimes angry crowd of about 200 flag-waving counter-protestors shouted down a small group of anti-gay demonstrators outside the county government complex in St. Charles.

Police stood guard — with the help of wooden barricades — to keep the two groups separate.

Margie Phelps of the Westboro Baptist church in Topeka, Kansas attempted to sing a parody of the Marine song with lyrics warning that soldiers are “marching to hell.” But the counter-protestors drowned her out with the chant, “U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A.”

Director Paul Haggis Still Slamming The "Joke" of Scientology....

The Crash director broke his ties to the religion when a San Diego branch showed support to Prop 8. Now he’s reading to sling mud.
Haggis is teaming up with writer Lawrence Wright to piss off John Travolta with the memoir, “The Heretic of Hollywood: Paul Haggis vs. The Church of Scientology.” The book takes aim at the real L. Ron Hubbard as well as current church head David Mascavige. Naturally, the church will fight against this book, as they are ruthless against dissenters. Oprah had better not even THINK about putting this in her book club.(Gawker)

Man Exposes His "Whopper" At Drive Through Window...

A Longmont man is accused of pulling into a Burger King drive-through with his penis in his hand and asking a 24-year-old employee at the window if she would like to "handle his Whopper," early today.

Before he could drive away, the woman jotted down his tag number. Longmont police pulled over Richard C. "Rick" Troupe, 52, about 2 miles from his home a short time later after the incident at 3:25 a.m., said Police Commander Jeff Satur.

"This was a very traumatic experience for this young woman," Satur said. "She had no idea what he might be capable of."

One Night In Jail For High School Hazing Suspect...

Katseanes lower left corner

Tyson Katseanes pleaded guilty on Wednesday to misdemeanor battery in Bingham County District Court.

Bingham County prosecutors said felony charges of forcible sexual penetration by use of foreign object will be dismissed for Anthony Clarke, Katseanes and an unidentified minor.

Deputy Prosecutor Randy Smith said the decision came Tuesday afternoon, following review of one victim's testimony.

The victim could recall multiple incidents, but upon review, could only clearly remember forcible sexual penetration on one occasion, said Smith.

Clarke and Katseanes were charged last month, along with three other former teammates at Blackfoot High School, in alleged assault incidents related to hazing.

Prosecutors said Logan Chidester and Nathan Walker will still face two felony counts based on accounts from other alleged victims.

Katseanes along with 3 other students were charged originally with felonies in the hazings which included forcible rape with a foreign object when they sodomized fellow players...

John Mc-Lame Is Now On Board With DADT Repeal....

Sen. John McCain, an avid defender of the law that barred gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military, said he will now make sure that the repeal is properly implemented.

McCain said he had made peace with the legislation passed during the lame-duck session of the Senate last month, according to The Hill.

"I think I have to do everything I can to make sure that the impact on the morale, retention, recruitment and battle effectiveness of the military is minimized as much as possible," McCain said Thursday on Fox Business. "It is a law and I have to do whatever I can to help the men and women who are serving, particularly in combat, cope with this new situation. I will do everything I can to make it work."

Catholic Schools Board Member Compares Ban Gay Straight Alliance Groups To Nazis...

The provincial Ministry of Education thinks GSA’s are pretty important. They are encouraged as one of the best ways to fight homophobia in schools and build bridges between all students.

But the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) takes a different view. The board feels the groups are harmful, and has issued a ban on GSA’s altogether.

“We don’t have Nazi groups either,” rationalizes board chair Alice Anne LeMay. “Gay-Straight Alliances are banned because they are not within the teachings of the Catholic Church.

What a disgusting nasty pig bigot, Alice Anne LeMay is....

Maryland Close To Approving Gay Marriage??

Now it appears that the wait in Maryland is nearing an end. The State House's Democratic majorities have been blocked by Senate President Thomas V. "Mike" Miller Jr., who has opposed gay marriage.

But not much longer. "We really feel like 2011 is the year," said Morgan Meneses-Sheets, executive director of Equality Maryland, the state's most prominent gay-marriage lobby group.

Miller has given his blessing to a committee realignment that all but assures that a gay-marriage measure will make it to the Senate floor during this year's session, which starts Wednesday - and presumably onto the desk of Gov. Martin O'Malley (D), who pledged last year to sign it.

Oh my god!!! I think Levine is so this...just wish the hand wasn't there....

Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine puts it all out there in this month’s Cosmopolitan UK to encourage men to check for signs of prostate and testicular cancer.

The singer, long a major supporter of gay rights, is completely naked, barely covered by a pair of female hands.

In a 2008 interview with The Advocate, Levine said he has always been a “very sexually open person” and an exhibitionist.

Gay Hate Group "Focus On the Family" May Pull Out Of Conservative Rally

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Colorado-based Focus on the Family is considering ending its sponsorship of a national conservative political action rally because of the involvement of a gay conservative group.

The lobbying arm of Focus on Family, CitizenLink, is a co-sponsor of the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., next month.

CitizenLink senior vice president Tom Minnery told The Gazette that the group is participating partly to help offset the influence of the gay group, GOProud. But he says this may be the last year it's a sponsor.

Sarah Palin and Mike Hucakbee are among those invited to speak at the conference.

GOProud participated last year and one group pulled out. This year, the Family Research Council and several others are boycotting it.

Glenn Beck Writes Gay Parenting Book??

Conservative celebrity Glenn Beck has denied his new book The 7: Seven Wonders That Will Change Your Life is a “gay parenting handbook.”

The 46-year-old Beck, who rankled conservatives last year when he said that he was OK with gay marriage, appears on the cover holding his young son Rafe as co-author Keith Ablow, M.D smiles at the pair from behind.

“For people who are looking for The 7 today and you see it maybe on a bookshelf, it's not a gay parenting manual,” Pat Gray, co-host of Beck's syndicated radio showThe Glenn Beck Program, said on Tuesday.

“Not that there's anything wrong with gay parenting manuals, but this isn't one,” Gray said.

“From the book cover, you would clearly think that Glenn and Keith are in love and they've adopted this child,” he added.

Beck, however, disagreed, saying that he wanted Ablow on the cover because The 7is not a political book but rather a book about “being happy and finding yourself.”

Oh Glenni, how cute of you...I knew it was only a matter of time... ;)

Obama Renominates DuMont, Could Be First Gay Federal Appeals Judge...

Today, President Barack Obama sent the name of Edward C. DuMont, a District resident, to the Senate for nomination to be a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The name was one of a spate of judicial nominees resubmitted to the new 112th Congress after the nominees were not voted on in the 111th Congress.

DuMont's renomination follows the Senate action on Dec. 22 returning the nomination to the president, who had nominated DuMont to the specialty court on April 14, 2010.

Man Arrested For Murdering Man He Thought Had Gay "Tendencies"...

Matthew Guzman, 21, has been arrested and charged with the first degree murder of Paul Barrow, 46, after the former shot the latter in the head. On 16 December, Guzman attacked Barrow in his South Florida auto shop named Devonaire Service. Guzman was arrested in connection with a different crime on Sunday, but he went on to confess to murdering Barrow and another man, Harry Ray, whom he murdered on 18 November.

Guzman’s arrest affidavit states that he believed that Barrow “had homosexual tendencies”, and that Barrow had recently looked at him in an “inappropriate manner”. Guzman, basically, stated that he murdered Barrow for believing that it he was gay.

Guzman has been denied bond.

Massachusetts Beware Of Gay Hating Bigot, Trying To Take Over....

He gained international attention after he was accused of stoking violence against gays in Uganda. One of his books, “Pink Swastika,’’ argues that Hitler and other Nazi leaders were gay. Another provides seven steps to “recruit-proof’’ your child from gay activists.

But Scott Lively says he is toning down his antigay rhetoric and shifting his focus to helping the downtrodden. And he’s found a home and a receptive audience in this struggling city where many, but not all, have embraced his mission to “re-Christianize Springfield.’’

But some in the city are wary. Gay rights and civil rights groups, including the Southern Poverty Law Center, have labeled Lively’s longtime organization, Abiding Truth Ministries, a hate group.

Lively, 53, has been a prominent activist denouncing gays for decades, mostly on the West Coast.

But he leapt into the world spotlight in March 2009, when he traveled to Uganda, and addressed members of parliament at a seminar on “exposing the homosexuals’ agenda.’’

Homosexuality is a crime in Uganda, and gays there have reported being attacked and tortured. Lively said he and two other American evangelicals were invited to the conference as experts on homosexuality. Lively warned the gathering that gays are a serious threat and their lifestyle “will lead to social chaos and destruction.’’

Seattle Gay Bars Being Unfairly Targeted??

Following complaints that authorities unfairly single out Seattle's gay and lesbian bars and nightclubs for scrutiny, Mayor Mike McGinn says he has ordered a review of enforcement activity in those establishments.

"I just want to get an answer back on that," McGinn said Tuesday at a news conference where he updated the status of his Nightlife Initiative. "There were those in that community who felt like enforcement was selective or unfair and that they were being targeted. We want to first get data on the question and then respond to it."

McGinn says he has requested an audit of the city's Code Compliance Team enforcement efforts. That squad is made up of representatives of the Seattle police and fire departments, the liquor control board, the city attorney's office and the mayor's office. McGinn said the goal is to encourage businesses to follow the laws and regulations governing nightlife establishments in a collaborative way.

Gay Marriage Bill Introduced Today In Rhode Island...

PROVIDENCE — The drive to legalize gay marriage in Rhode Island will begin anew on Thursday, with the re-introduction in the House of a bill to allow for same-sex nuptials.

In a brief interview on Wednesday, Rep. Arthur Handy, D-Cranston, said he had already lined up 27 co-sponsors and was hoping for more, but would introduce the bill no matter what the number on Thursday in hopes of spurring an early-session hearing and vote on the measure.

Besides Handy, the other lead sponsors include Representatives Frank Ferri, D-Warwick, Edith Ajello, D-Providence, Deborah Ruggiero, D-Jamestown, and the openly gay House Speaker Gordon D. Fox, D-Providence, who had said in the days leading up to the start of the 2011 General Assembly session that he hoped for a House vote on same-sex marriage early in the session, before the lawmakers get wrapped up in the budget and other issues.

Chick-fil-A Removes Their Name From Anti-gay Group...

The Chick-fil-A name has been removed from banner ads promoting a marriage event sponsored by the antigay Pennsylvania Family Institute.

The company tweeted that it was “looking into the issue” on Tuesday but has yet to issue an official statement. Chick-fil-A had been listed as a sponsor for February’s “The Art of Marriage” event, sponsored by the conservative, antigay group.

This isn’t the first time the restaurant chain has been taken to task for its support of antigay groups. In 2009, reported Chick-Fil-A had supported Focus on the Family.

That group, founded by the Reverend James Dobson, endorses so-called reparative therapy programs in efforts to turn gays straight and has donated hundreds of thousand of dollars in support of antigay legislation.

James Franco: "Maybe I'm Just Gay:

“There are lots of other reasons to be interested in gay characters than wanting myself to go out and have sex with guys,” he says. “And there are also lots of other aspects about these characters that I’m interested in, in addition to their sexuality. So, in some ways it’s coincidental, in other ways it’s not. I mean, I’ve played a gay man who’s living in the ’60s and ’70s, a gay man who we depicted in the ‘50s, and one being in the ‘20s. And those were all periods when to be gay, at least being gay in public, was much more difficult. Part of what I’m interested in is how these people who were living anti-normative lifestyles contended with opposition. Or, you know what, maybe I’m just gay.”

Chick-Fil-A Responds To Involvement With Anti-gay Group...

A spokesperson for Chick-Fil-A says the company is looking into reports the group is sponsoring a series of marriage events put on by the antigay Pennsylvania Family Institute.

The company tweeted Tuesday, "For those seeing reports of a CFA sponsorship w/ the Penn Family Inst, we are looking into the issue and will provide a response ASAP." reported Tuesday that the company had thrown its support behind “The Art of Marriage,” a series of antigay marriage conferences being held next month in south-central Pennsylvania.

The events, held in Harrisburg and Reading, are designed to "help couples apply what the Bible teaches about marriage in a powerful way." While promotional materials for the events aren’t specifically antigay, the Family Institute is Pennsylvania’s largest antigay, anti–marriage equality group.

Chick has been involved with anti-gay groups before. The chain is extremely "Christian" and are baptists, you know how anti-gay baptist are. I have said before no gay person should support this establishment, they are only serving up their "Christian values" in every chicken sandwich you eat....

NOM Hiding Their Tax Returns Again??

Fred Karger takes these anti-gay groups to task for their suspicious behavior. Karger was responsible for getting the state of California to investigate the LDS Church after their involvement in Prop 8, which ultimately ending with LDS being found guilty of 13 violations and had to pay fines...
The four year old National Organization for Marriage (NOM), and the National Organization for Marriage Foundation (NOMF) has once again failed to file its required Federal Income Tax Returns. Their IRS 2009 returns for both of these non-profits, their 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 were due on May 15, 2010. If they received an extension, then they were due October 15, 2010. Now they are 2 ½ months LATE!

How do you say, “Front Group?” I went again to the NOM National Office at 2029 K Street, NW, Suite 300, Washington, DC 20006 to see their 2009 Tax Returns. Notice the UPS delivery slip on the doorknob. Neighbors said they never see anyone there, yet they are leading the fight against gay marriage in 14 states.

I recently visited their new National Office in Washington, DC twice during regular office hours to view the returns. No one was there. They must make them available to anyone during regular business hours. We also have checked online repeatedly for their 2009 returns, and again, nothing. What is NOM trying to hide? Why do they not file their tax returns every year?

Teens Charged In Cyber Bullying Case...

Two Emerson Middle School students have been charged by Park Ridge Police with harassment in an alleged case of cyber-bullying against a female classmate.

The 13- and 14-year-old girls, both of Park Ridge, were charged Dec. 23 under a local ordinance and are scheduled to appear before the Park Ridge Peer Jury, police said.

According to police the girls are accused of setting up a page on the social-networking site, Facebook, that included offensive and derogatory statements about a 13-year-old girl. Requests to "friend" the page were then sent out to more than 80 classmates, said Park Ridge Police Cmdr. Lou Jogmen.

The father of the 13-year-old victim contacted police after learning about the site, Jogmen said. Two Park Ridge detectives interviewed about 10 Emerson Middle School students before identifying the two girls who were allegedly responsible for the Facebook page.
