Ever since the historic passage of gay marriage in NY, the face of the law, Andrew Cuomo has been having a gay old time making bank in donations from the gays who are showing there gratitude…
In September, two prominent gay donors — Jon Stryker, the billionaire heir to the Stryker medical supply company, and Jonathan Lewis, whose father, Peter B. Lewis, is the chairman of Progressive Insurance — hosted a fund-raiser that was billed as an “intimate evening” with Mr. Cuomo. Tickets went for $12,500 a person; Mr. Cuomo collected about $400,000.
The fund-raiser on Friday will be held at the home of James Costos, an executive at HBO, and Michael S. Smith, the interior decorator whom President Obama and his wife, Michelle, chose to make over the living quarters of the White House. The couple have raised more than $1 million for the president’s re-election, and hosted Mrs. Obama at a fund-raiser at their home in June.
