Michigan Republicans SUCK ASS: “Legalize” bullying…
Does anyone want to try and tell me how wonderful Republicans politicians are? Time and time again we are seeing their anti-gay agenda trying and sometimes succeeding in passing laws against gays. The Republicans in New Hampshire are currently trying to overturn the gay marriage law which was passed two years ago and as of today the majority of New Hampshire citizens do not want it repealed. Not to mention the Republicans in Washington who are defending DOMA. I could go on to let me just get to the post at hand.
Michigan, let me rephrase that the Republicans just past one they claim is an anti-bullying law. However it protects religious and moral viewpoints. Meaning that if you are against gays and you bully them and use your religious and moral viewpoints as the reason then that is perfectly fine.
Watch the video below Sen. Whitmer blasts the Republicans. Awesome…
“Matt’s Safe School Law” passed 26-11 with all Democrats voting against it. The bill is named for Matt Eppling, an East Lansing 14-year-old who committed suicide after being bullied by classmates in 2002. The law includes a section noting it doesn’t abridge First Amendment free speech rights or prohibit expression of religious or moral viewpoints — a provision Democrats fear could be used to justify harassment of gay, lesbian or transgender students. “I am ashamed that this could be Michigan’s bill on anti-bullying when in fact it is a ‘bullying is OK in Michigan law,’” Kevin Eppling, Matt’s father, whose letter was read by Sen. Glenn Anderson during Wednesday’s session.
My dear Izzo, the Republican party has many adherents, as do the Democrats. Indeed, they are the two primary parties, the rest are but dots; but both have tens of millions of members, and thousands of politicians. The current crop of Republican politicians in some states are indeed fundamentalist Christians of a most horrible kind –and without doubt, extraordinarily anti-gay. Yet, several NY State Republicans came out for gay marriage.
However, there are even other Republicans, both politicians and just members of the party, who are none to happy with this new found religiosity. People like my father, several uncles, siblings, aunts, cousins, etc — all of whom I assure you are quite extraordinarily gay friendly. People like Michael Baronne of National Review who has argued: “Let gay marriage work, stop trying to stop it, then let’s figure this out in a better way.” And American Spectator, though liking Rick Santorum on much, have repeatedly asked “What is wrong with Santorum on gay folks? He’s obsessed. That’s crazy.” And they are not happy. And Ned Ryun, a major Tea Party activist: “Bachmann should drop out because she’s obsessed with gay folks. Let that issue alone.”
Meanwhile, I could recast this as “Don’t tell me how wonderful Democrats are” when I recall that Democrat NY state senator Ruben Diaz held a rally in the Bronx, with nary a Republican to be seen, except a few crazed Fundamentalists, while speaker after speaker of the Democratic Bloc in that Borough decried the existence of gays, and one went so far as to say “Gays are worthy of death.” I have yet to hear a single Democratic Party leader to chastise the man. He has continued to this day to preach against us — no Democrat, not even the Clintons, living but miles from the Bronx, has said a word. What gives? Since when is such hate and calls for genocide to be part of the Democratic Party?
And I dare say, 85% of African-Americans are against gay folks — and 95% of African Americans vote Democratic — what is wrong with a political party that allows such anti-gay rhetoric to be uttered near daily? So, then, do, tell me the difference between the Democrats and the Republicans as parties — or tell me the similarities in Christian hatred. I tell you, then, that it is not the “Republicans” or “Democrats” as political parties which are anti-gay — but the Fundamentalists of all colors, shapes, sizes, denominations and beliefs which have gotten a hold of the party machinery.
This theocracy a-brewing is just as dangerous as the socialist thought run rampant of late (The National Socialists, aka, Nazis, have endorsed the “Occupy Wall Street” stuff — Nazis are not known to be gay friendly – many Democrats support Occupy — what gives with that?) .
And just last week Obama appointed a vociferous denier of gay marriage, gay rights, and gay existence, to be his liaison under the — if I may be so bold — gay tax dollar funded “Federal Faith Outreach.” — I dare say, Obama, Democrat #1, has jumped in bed with the anti-gay Fundamentalists — what then, I ask, is wrong with the Democratic Party? As you rightly ask, “what is wrong with Republicans?” And I’ll tell you — Religion.
Gays are not about economics, or taxes, or entitlement programs — of which you and I may quibble. — gays are a religious issue — and Democratic and Republican politicians with religious bents are against us. Blame one, sure — blame both — far better. I hope you see this, and thus, present the issue as it is — and not just “Republican v Democrat” but — “fringe fundies vs the rational rest of us.” Thanks.
(well, you asked, “does anyone want to try to tell me….” and the answer, is “yes, I shall.”
Oh, I confound everyone, you should see how I torture the Republican/Tea Party side of the place about sissy smooching. And I tell them about you
they think I’m as crazy as you do. Which always emboldens me. hehehe.
