Manhunt got complaints from people over this billboard ad placed in Los Angeles. One dumb bitch mother who is so afraid to teach her kid that there are people out there who, oh my god gasp, are gay, believes her phone call, got the billboard taken down. They don’t call it La La land for nothing. The truth is the ad had expired. I wonder how this ignorant dumb ass explains the Calvin Klein billboards on Sunset, one in which shows a woman with her hand down the front of a shirtless guys pants? Lady get over your ignorant self. Hopefully for your kids sake they will turn out gay and fabulous….
We chose to debut the campaign in Los Angeles. The city that serves as the focal point of our highly sexualized film and television industry would surely be the perfect place to debut our ad. Right?
We received dozens of complaints about the campaign here at Manhunt HQ in Boston, as did our ad agency, Lamar Advertising. Citizens were reportedly concerned about children being able to view our billboards. One annoyed parent even wrote an online op-ed piece last week claiming that her complaints got our ads taken down (actually, our LA campaign expired as scheduled on 11/20/11).
